Our professionals have over 40 years experience in the formal wear industry, and are able to help you navigate every aspect of your experience with us. Whether you need advice on the historically proper style of tuxedo to wear for a wedding at a particular time of day, or would like to know what the latest trends in prom tuxedos are, we are here to help.

We also offer formal wear uniforms for service professionals, band and orchestra members, and others. For quantity sales we offer on-site fittings and delivery to your location.

Question: What does your standard tuxedo include? Answer: The standard tuxedo includes a coat, pants, tuxedo shirt, jewelry, black bow tie and a black cummerbund. Optional accessories include designer vests/ties and shoes.Question: What sizes do you carry?Answer: From boys size 3 to mens size 70 coats in most styles.Question: Do you offer next-day service?Answer: Yes! While we recommend that you place your order at least 2 weeks in advance, we are able to accommodate rush/next-day orders. As long as you place your order by noon Sunday - Friday, your tuxedo will be ready the next day. Any orders placed within 7 days of the date of use will incur an extra rush fee.Question: Do you offer special deals for weddings or Prom?Answer: Yes! Check our homepage for our wedding and prom specials.Question: When do I need to return my tuxedo rental?Answer: Tuxedos are due back the day after use. If that will not be possible, let us know when you place your order and we will accommodate your return date.Question: How do I know if I should rent or buy a tuxedo?Answer: If you think you will need to wear a tuxedo at least twice in the near future, you should consider purchasing it. Call or visit us for a consultation with our formal wear experts, who will help you make this decision.Question: Should I rent tuxedo shoes, or wear my own?Answer: Always rent tuxedo shoes when you rent your tuxedo. It will look much more finished and will look great in your pictures. Would you drive a luxury car with donut tires? No. And don't forget a pocket handkerchief, which will complete the look!Question: What makes your store different from other mens formal wear stores?Answer: We offer quality tuxedos at very reasonable prices. In addition, we have on-site formal wear experts (with over 20 years of experience in the tuxedo business) who have superior levels of formal wear knowledge. We strive to provide our customers with impeccable service in order to make your experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. Finally, our next-day service is a unique offering from our competitors.Question: I am getting married and most of my groomsmen are out of town. How do I go about placing an order?Answer: Ask your wedding party to go to any formal wear shop in their area, tell them that they are in an out-of-town wedding, and they need their measurements to be taken. That formal wear shop will measure them at no charge; it is a professional courtesy. Your wedding participants should then send those measurements to you. You can either bring those measurements to us, or call them in. When your wedding participants arrive, their tuxedos will be ready to be picked up and tried on.

Out of Town

Are you coming in from out of town, or have out of town guests or groomsmen that need a tuxedo rental? No problem! The out-of-town customer may go to any formal wear shop in their area, tell them that they are in an out-of-town wedding or event and that they need their measurements to be taken.

That formal wear shop will measure them at no charge; it is a professional courtesy. The measurements that we need are those found on the form located here, which can be printed out. You can either 1) bring those measurements to us; 2) email or call the measurements in; 3) submit the measurements instantly here.

When the day the tuxedo is needed arrives, the tuxedos will be ready to be picked up and tried on.

Formalwear Tips No Frame

All of our tuxedo rentals come with your choice of silver or gold cufflinks and studs. We also offer designer stud/cufflink sets for sale. Consider purchasing a unique set of studs and cufflinks that will showcase your individuality and style.

If your bride or date is wearing an off white or cream colored dress, you should wear an ivory shirt rather than a white one. Otherwise, her dress will look dull against the white of your shirt.

Don't forget formal shoes. You would be amazed at what a difference it makes if the entire wedding party is wearing proper shoes. Your photographer (not to mention your wife) will thank you!

A white pocket square is a simple way to add an extra touch of class.

When in doubt, stick with a classic: A one button notch lapel tuxedo with a black bowtie.

Metro Gives Back High School and Arts Donations

Metropolitan Formalwear at SEARS is a proud Northern Virginia business and believes that it is very important to give back to the community. As such, we participate in a variety of programs designed to support local organizations.

For example, we have partnered with local high schools to provide monetary donations to band and athletic booster programs for each tuxedo rented from our store.
